About the Role



The Assistant Accountant is a key part of a small finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance and working alongside the Financial Accountant in ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the Finance department.

Would suit first time position in Finance or someone who wants the opportunity to progress their skillset in a growing business

Involvement in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Processing of supplier invoices, including matching to GRN's.

Processing all payments including supplier payment runs.

Assisting with collection of payments from customers.

Set up of new suppliers and customers.

Daily bank reconciliations.

Daily communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Preparation of journals and balance sheet reconciliations as part of month end.

Working with internal and external auditors.

Expense claim management.

General accounts administration.

Monitoring of central email boxes.

Resolution of queries.

Continuous improvement of processes.

Other ad hoc tasks to support the Head of Finance.

About your Skills, Qualifications and Attributes:



If you are detail orientated with a passion for finance and accounting, we encourage you to apply for the position. Would suit someone with a basic understanding of accounting principles or ideally previous experience in an accounts payable (or similar) role, with a willingness to continue improving via either completion of the AAT qualification and/or CIMA/ACCA/other accounting qualification.

A strong team player is required with a willingness to assist and learn from colleagues whilst working in a changing and flexible organisation. Someone who is willing to working at pace in a very busy environment and can work as part of a lively team as well as using your own initiative. In addition, the successful candidate must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including good Excel skills
