We are looking to appoint a qualified or part-qualified Assistant Accountant to join our Head Office team in Cramlington.

This is a hands-on role working directly alongside our Management Accountant, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with solid experience and a keen analytical mindset. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing financial data and comfortable taking on a varied role with both technical and investigative elements. Key responsibilities will include preparing and analysing financial data, with a focus on revenues, vehicle maintenance costs, and labour spend. You will support month-end reporting, budgeting, and payroll processes, as well as monitor operational costs such as fleet fuel efficiency, stock levels, and licence renewals. You will also be expected to contribute to improving systems and processes while providing wider administrative support where needed.

We are looking for someone who is part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent), with proven experience in an accounting or finance role - ideally within the transport or logistics sector, though this is not essential. You should be proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) and familiar with general accounting software. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage a varied workload, and a proactive, team-oriented approach are key to success in this role.
