Assistant Accountant

27k plus monthly bonus

Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant looking to take on greater responsibility within a dynamic and supportive team? I'm partnering with a Fleetwood-based business seeking a "can do" Assistant Accountant who can hit the ground running bringing confidence, initiative, and strong technical ability to a busy finance function.

What You'll Be Doing

In this key role, you will work closely with the Finance Manager while taking ownership of core accounting activities and contributing to continuous improvement across the department. Your responsibilities will include

Managing daily and monthly bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness Preparing and posting journals, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting complex reconciliations Playing a key role in month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the production of management accounts Overseeing transactional activity, including reviewing supplier invoices, processing payments, and supporting AP/AR duties where required Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve controls, and increase efficiency within the finance team

You'll Thrive in This Role if You Have:

Solid experience in an Assistant Accountant Role (3 Years Minimum) AAT Level 4, part-qualified CIMA/ACCA, or equivalent on-the-job experience Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail Proven ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines Good systems knowledge and confidence working with finance software (experience with SAGE would be advantageous) Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
