J. R Rix state of the art head office is located in central Hull overlooking the Marina. We started out as ship owners in 1873 and today we have interests in fuel distribution, shipping, motor cars, caravan manufacturing and property.

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join J R Rix & Sons Ltd. The successful applicant will be an experienced, confident individual with high attention to detail, good communication skills, proficient with Excel and organised. This role would suit someone wanting a business they can make their mark in and who is used to a fast-paced environment.

The role:

You will be working predominantly on the Petroleum Group and Fuelmate Ltd

Daily Bank Reconciliation across the various companies and currencies. Reconciliation of Daily / Weekly Fuel Stocks Data Analysis and Reporting Assisting with Weekly / Monthly Projections Balancing and Reconciling Nominal Accounts Raising Ad-hoc Sales invoices and Credit Control Running the system month-end Assisting the Accountant with queries and with the preparation of the Accounts

To be successful in this role, you will:

Experience of Microsoft 365 Ability to communicate effectively by telephone, in person and in writing High level of attention to detail Ability to multi-task, use initiative and prioritise your workload Ability to work independently while maintaining good communication with the team Experience in working in a fast-paced environment
