Have you got experience in an accountancy and are looking for a varied exciting role?

Van National are seeking a dependable and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join us in supporting the day-to-day operations of our finance department.

In this role, you'll be an integral part of the finance team, assisting with routine accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations to support the smooth functioning of our financial operations.

Salary: Starting from 35000 + Bonus Scheme

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm with 1 hour for lunch (unpaid) i.e. 37.5 hours per week.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are always met.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for dealing with the day-to-day accounts

As the Accounts Assistant you will be purchase invoice processing

Sales and purchase ledger reconciliation

Bank and cash reconciliation

Preparing payments for authorisation and processing

As the Accounts Assistant you will be posting of monthly journals

Cashflow monitoring

Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Full administration support

For the role, it would be good to see candidates with:

Previous experience in accounting/bookkeeping

Attention to detail

Strong administration skills

Confident individual

Excellent numeracy skills

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).

Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy whilst prioritising workload.

Confidence to handle queries over the telephone and via email.

Previous experience in an account assistant or finance support role is required minimum AAT level 4
