A family-owned business, who have been manufacturing for over 50 years. They have expanded in size and market share consistently YoY, in doing so, they have grown to become one of Europe's leading manufacturers. It's a business that you might not have heard of but one that supplies some of the biggest brands in the UK, as well as supplying independent and private retailers.
The Role
They are looking for someone to complete a 3-month FTC, with the potential for extension beyond that timeline due to several factors that can be discussed over the phone. The role will cross over sales and purchase ledger, with a larger weighting toward sales ledger management. You'll post and allocate customer payments, and reconcile unallocated payments. You'll handle full end-to-end sales ledger, including chasing payments, sending invoices, and dealing with account queries. You'll support on purchase ledger processing but also support with broader accounting duties; bank recs, cash posting and looking at full account reconciliations, among other duties.
Duties:
Posting and allocating customer payments and reconciling unallocated payments
Updating and maintaining all account query information using excel
Using Sage 200 to investigate account queries and allocation of receipts
Address and resolve customer queries, promptly and effectively
Reconciliation of the sales ledger control account
Bank reconciliation, cash posting and account reconciliation (e.g. AR, inventory and intercompany)
What they're looking for:
Strong excel competencies and experience dealing with Sage 200 or similar accounting software
A good track record managing sales ledgers
Ideally with manufacturing/stock experience (desirable)
Good communication skills with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to prioritise tasks and remain goal orientated
