Job holder is responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in the day-to-day running of the Finance Department. The job holder is required to perform a variety of professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data. This includes ledgers and preparation of journal entities, fixed asset and/or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance and/or or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation and management accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Specifics of job content will vary from preparing journal entries and checking supporting entries, to carrying out well-defined steps in cost and management accounting analysis:
Completions of management accounts, forecasts and budget, and associated reporting in relation to entity assigned
Providing the Management Accountant with month end balance sheet reconciliations for review
Submissions of weekly, bi-monthly cash flow forecasts to Treasury
General support for monthly accruals, prepayments, bank recs, currency revaluations
Maintenance of the fixed asset registers and associated reconciliations
Completion and follow up of management reports such as customer analysis, sales order margin, departmental overheads, overtime etc
Maintenance of intercompany customers/vendors accounts, inclusive of month end reconciliations, reporting requirements, payments, etc
Completion of royalty returns
Review and closure of work orders
Ad hoc invoicing such as monthly recharges
PLC ethical reporting and greenhouse emissions reports
Misc cash posting
Qualifications/Skills and Experience:
Essential:
HND qualification, ideally in Financial Management or Accounting, or equivalent in related field
Strong knowledge of Microsoft office programs in particular Excel
Proven experience in a similar role
An ability to work to strict deadlines
Desirable:
Knowledge and experience of an ERP system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365
