Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-focused

Assistant Accountant (Service & Support Charges)

to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting financial processes in a large or complex organisation. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate, transparent and customer-focused service and support charge information across the Group.



This is a hybrid role, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Typical office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, working alongside the rest of the team, but there is some flexibility. Occasional travel may be required to our offices in St Helens and Warrington.

What you will be doing:





Contributing to the annual service charge review and ensuring accurate, timely information is provided to customers. Maintaining the service charge accounting model and supporting the calculation of statements for leaseholders and shared owners. Assisting with monthly management accounts, commentary and analysis. Supporting operational teams with budget reviews, queries and forecasts. Assisting with annual budget setting, in-year budget management and financial planning. Contributing to audit schedules and providing sound financial advice to internal and external stakeholders. Supporting the development of robust financial systems, processes and controls.

What we're looking for:





Part or fully qualified professional accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) Strong knowledge of accountancy practice Experience with service and support charges in a housing environment Proven success in delivering financial services that drive measurable business benefits Experience in a large or complex organisation Track record of improving financial systems, processes and producing quality financial statements Strong IT literacy and ability to adopt new digital ways of working Evidence of contributing to organisational goals and working collaboratively

Interview Process:





Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview. Interviews will take place on Thursday 15th January 2026 at our Liverpool City Centre office.
