Assistant Am Supervisor (part Time, Nights)
Job Description
Stevenage Overnight Parcels are looking for a dependable and motivated individual with experience in courier, depot, or logistics operations to join our small, supportive team on a part-time basis.
As the Assistant AM Supervisor, you'll work closely with the Shift Supervisors to keep the early morning freight sort running smoothly. Your main responsibility will be ensuring parcels are dispatched with the right drivers while maintaining Health & Safety standards.
This is a varied, hands-on role--whether it's helping unload the lorry, supervising parcel sorters, or assisting with driver route planning using our bespoke mapping software.
We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently step up to support supervision when needed. This role may suit someone looking for consistent part-time hours alongside other commitments.
Typical hours:
Tuesday-Friday: 04:00-09:00
Saturday: 03:00-12:00
Key Responsibilities
Support the Shift Supervisors in managing the morning warehouse team.
Help ensure vehicles are unloaded safely and efficiently.
Oversee scanning and sorting of parcels into the correct delivery rounds.
Assist drivers with their departures, resolving any parcel issues.
Act as AM Supervisor when required, including route planning.
Experience & Skills
Physically fit and able to lift up to 30kg.
At least 2 years' warehouse experience (loading/unloading trailers).
Confident using IT systems and quick to learn new ones.
Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
Good knowledge of SG/AL6-AL10 areas is an advantage.
Forklift licence desirable (training available).
Full driving licence (max 3 points), with large van experience beneficial.
