Assistant Art Teacher
Job Description
Cygnets Art School Twickenham are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and reliable new art assistant to help with our classes! Please read all the information below before applying, as this is a part-time, freelance position, and may not be suitable for everyone.
Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children, based in the UK. We teach traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects; experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Classes are run for ages 5-18 after school and weekends during term time, as well as every half term and school holiday.
The successful candidate will be available for all the Wednesday and Friday after-school classes during term time and be available to take on extra shifts during the holidays, when the schedule changes. As well as helping with the marketing of the business when required, such as flyering local schools and businesses.
Assistant Teachers are not required to prepare anything in advance but must be punctual so as to be briefed at the start of each class and enable a smooth set-up. Therefore living locally is preferential.
This role would suit a creative individual with a passion for teaching, who's looking for well-paid work in the artistic industry, but with the flexibility of minimal hours that can fit around other commitments.
Term Time Hours:
Starting September 17th - December 5th 2025:
Wednesdays 4:15-5:45pm, Fridays 4:15-5:45pm & Saturdays tbc
Then ongoing each term (10 weeks/term | 3 terms/ year)
Holiday Hours:
October Half Term 2025 (27th-31st)
Monday - Friday 10:15am-2:15pm
Then ongoing each half term (3 x weeks per year); Easter Holiday (2 x weeks per year), and Summer holiday (5 x weeks per year).
Necessary Requirements:
- Strong core artistic skills in a variety of mediums
- A passion for working with children
- Excellent reliability, time-keeping and organisation
Ideal Additional Requirements
- Teaching experience
- A knowledge of the local area and connection to local schools
- DBS certificate & First Aid Training
Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm, Freelance
