We are a leading lifestyle brand specialises in home & garden and currently we are recruiting for the role of Assistant Buyer to join our business.

Responsibilities:

Building Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers. Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial principles, including cost negotiation, budgeting, and value analysis. Organisation and Planning: Prioritise workloads effectively, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines consistently. Problem-Solving: Identify and solve procurement challenges independently, whilst seeking guidance when necessary. Integrity: Conduct all business dealings with honesty and transparency.

Technical Competencies:

Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers. Prepare and issue purchase orders following company policy. Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery. Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the procurement process. Stay up-to-date with market trends and new product developments within the interior fit-out industry. Overseas Buying Trips. Proficient in Word/Excel/Powerpoint

Person Specification

Relevant experience as a Buyer in the Homeware Industry Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Experience in using procurement software systems. A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to work. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong organisational and time management skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A valid UK driving licence (essential).
