About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable Cafe / Bar Assistant to join our daytime team at Tipsy Owl. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service in a relaxed but professional cafe-bar environment.
You'll be part of a supportive team providing high-quality artisan tea and coffee, sweet treats, and light food service, while also assisting with bar service when required.
Most food preparation and heating is carried out in our kitchen by another member of staff, allowing this role to focus primarily on front-of-house service and drink quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Preparing and serving artisan-style tea and coffee to a high standard
Serving cakes, sweet treats, and light food items
Ensuring food labelling, allergens, and hygiene standards are followed correctly
Providing friendly, attentive customer service at all times
Learning and preparing basic cocktails
Pouring pints and serving alcoholic drinks responsibly
Operating tills and handling cash accurately
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar and cafe area
Supporting colleagues during busy periods
Following all health & safety and licensing requirements
Experience & Skills
Previous experience in a cafe, bar, or hospitality environment is preferred
A genuine interest in quality coffee, tea, and customer service
Willingness to learn basic cocktails and bar service
Comfortable handling cash and using tills
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
Ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods
Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21-12.75 per hour
