Job Summary
Are you a natural leader with a passion for excellent coffee, delicious food, and outstanding customer service?
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Cafe Manager to join our team.
You will work closely with our Cafe Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure high standards of quality, and inspire our staff to produce excellent food together with perfect customer service.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Assist the manager in overseeing all day-to-day cafe and kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and smooth service.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and motivate our team. Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
Customer Service:
Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service.
Ordering and stock control:
Assist with stock management and ordering supplies.
Quality & Standards:
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in line with all health and safety regulations.
Financial Administration:
Support with financial duties, including cashing up, and reporting.
Problem-Solving:
Tackle operational challenges, equipment malfunctions, and staff issues with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Driving the business forwards:
Help promote special offers and new menu items to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a cafe, restaurant or other hospitality setting, minimum requirement 1 year.
A strong passion for amazing customer service, a genuine love of coffee and an understanding of great food and wine.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions in a busy environment.
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings (till 9pm), and weekends.
Barista training or professional coffee knowledge.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, Level 2 or higher.
