We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations within a bustling hospitality environment. Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all cafe activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and quality standards
Manage team members, including scheduling, training, and performance management
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Assist with food production tasks as necessary, including serving customers and preparing beverages such as coffee as a barista
Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock control to minimise waste
Maintain a welcoming environment for guests, providing excellent hospitality service
Organise staff rotas and oversee staff development programmes to foster team growth
Handle customer feedback professionally, resolving any issues promptly to uphold the cafe's reputation
Requirements
Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably within a cafe or similar setting
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
Supervising experience with demonstrated team management skills
Knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy
Familiarity with hospitality industry practices, including barista skills and beverage preparation (e.g., coffee making)
Organised with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in hotel or restaurant settings is advantageous
