Job Description

As Assistant Manager it will be your responsibility that you support the Campsite Manager run the site effectively and efficiently, ensuring that everything is in place for our customers to have an unforgettable camping experience! As Assistant Manager you'll be helping with all aspects of campsite life. From serving coffees and making pizzas, to pitching tents and helping customers; this is a hands-on position, so you'll need to be ready to assist where required and take on responsibilities to support your Campsite Manager and the team.

You will of course have all the support you need from the Campsite Manager and Head Office, and you will be thoroughly trained and guided at the start, but for the most part you are jointly responsible for your campsite and its success, which will give you a great sense of pride in all your hard work!

Please note - this is NOT a live-in position.

However we can put a bell tent up with a bed for overnight stays if required e.g back-2-back shift. Your typical work week will be Thursday till Sunday, but can vary depending on bookings. Our site is located in a countryside location with little access to public transport - please check your location and make sure you can get to the site easily before applying!

Key Responsibilities:



Engage with customers to make their stay with us as memorable and enjoyable as possible. Some administrative duties (including pitch planning, cash up, feedback to Head Office, stock takes and ordering stock). Physical tasks - putting up and down bell tents weekly and maintaining the site (mowing, strimming, painting, emptying firepits etc.) Support managing casual staff, training them, creating rotas, and building a good relationship with them to ensure a safe and positive working environment. Cleaning of all campsite amenities. Making and selling pizzas, coffees, and shop items.

Required:



Passion for the outdoors. Hospitality or retail work experience. Excellent customer service. Fun and energetic attitude for our busy summer season. Good organisation skills as well as being flexible and adaptable. A willingness to have a hands on approach to the role and feels comfortable performing some manual duties. Full 3 month summer availability - Early June 2025 until end of August 2025. Available to work Thursday till Sunday, but can vary depending on bookings. Full (clean) UK Drivers License or international license valid in the UK.

Embers Employment Package:



Monthly starting salary of 1,720. Full training and uniforms provided. For each month you work you'll also receive 2.3 days of holiday on a pro-rata basis. Complimentary hot drinks and a pizza or cheese toasty per shift. 20% discount for friends and family to stay at any Embers campsite. Opportunity to return in future years with an increased salary or potentially become a Campsite Manager.
