Job Description

We are currently partnered with an excellent organisation who are based in Central Manchester who are looking to recruit an Assistant Category Manager due to internal promotion! This role will be working within a first class procurement team and will require travel to the Manchester Office 1 -2 days per week.
As Assistant Category Manager you will report into the Category Manager and be working within the HR & Professional Services Category!
Duties will include, however, not be limited to:

  • Own some of your smaller categories end-to-end, supporting with stakeholder and supplier engagement, planning, sourcing and supplier management.
  • Analyse financial, supplier and market data to identify trends, delivering value, service improvements and commercial benefits.
  • Execute sourcing activity in line with the category plan, including tendering, analysis, selection, negotiation and contracting with suppliers.
  • Support sourcing projects across the wider category.
  • Facilitate key supplier meetings.

A successful Assistant Category Manager should have:
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, or category management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier and stakeholder engagement.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
