Job Description

An assistant is cheese maker is required to help make cheese in our busy dairy, The role will involve all aspects of making cheese from start to finish.

This would suit a person, who is methodical , can work quickly and accurately, with a good understanding of hygiene procedures and good attention to detail.

Ideally someone with a

catering / food processing background

, would be preferred , however full training will be given,( including Level 2 Food Hygiene training).

The successful applicant will be someone who is excited by the process of turning milk into cheese. A positive person who can work on their own initiative and work well in a small team.

From pouring the curd into the moulds to cleaning and disinfecting cheese making equipment, removing cheeses from cheese molds, brining cheese, vacuum packing, cheese dicing, cheese turning etc. Also to help with cheese packing when required.

Must be reliable and a good time keeper.

This is a varied and physical role, on your feet all day, with some heavy lifting every day. It is a full time position, with the possibility of working some weekends on a rota basis

Hours; typically 7 am to 4 pm /4.30 pm
