We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, alongside excellent team working skills. As an Assistant Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Participate in food preparation and cooking, demonstrating culinary skills and techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Train new kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques and safety protocols.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Culinary experience with a passion for cooking and food preparation.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
Strong communication skills, fostering a positive working atmosphere within the team.
A background in hospitality is an advantage, enhancing customer satisfaction through quality food service.
