Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed effectively. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings. Train new staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety protocols. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning.

Experience

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques. Supervising experience is essential, with demonstrated leadership abilities in managing a team. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is crucial for maintaining health regulations. Previous hospitality experience will be considered an asset. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
