Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and a keen interest in the hospitality industry. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage of ingredients. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained, cleaned, and used safely. Assist with daily kitchen operations, including setting up workstations and cleaning up after service.

Requirements:

Proven kitchen or catering experience is essential. Available to work Tuesdays, alternate Thursdays, some weekends and cover holiday/sickness when required. Ability to work well in a small team and follow instructions from senior staff. Knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen practices. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 9 - 18 per week
