As an Assistant Cleaning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing 11 sites for one of our prestigious banking client contracts.

You'll manage a large team made up of cleaners, team leaders, and supervisors, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while addressing any issues that may arise across the locations.


This is a hands-on role that will allow you to develop a broad range of managerial skills in a fast-paced environment.


Your duties will include carrying out site audits, handling timesheet and wage queries, monitoring staffing levels, and arranging any ad hoc deep cleans requested by the client.


You'll be part of a collaborative team that values initiative, professionalism, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities




Support operatives to meet service standards and respond to cleaning requests Conduct regular checks and cleans in designated areas Assist with payroll, audits, recruitment, and vetting processes Follow company and client procedures and security policies Maintain cleaning assets and ensure storerooms are tidy and organised Foster good relationships with customers and colleagues Provide cover for Cluster Manager during absences

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications




Strong leadership and delegation skills essential Experience handling HR issues and wage-related finance matters Proven track record managing large teams, ideally in the cleaning sector Familiarity with IOSH and COSHH desirable but not required Comfortable overseeing varied operational and administrative tasks Ability to maintain high standards across multiple sites Effective communicator with strong team management skills
