Work base: Llys Elian





Llys Elian is a residential care home which provides 24 hour support for older people living with dementia.


We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic assistant cook who will assist with all aspects of catering for the residential home and day centre, and who will deputise for the cook during periods of absence on a casual basis.


The post holder will be required to assist with menu planning to meet individual dietary needs, providing a balanced diet, take account of availability and quality of ingredients and make best use of resources.


You will be expected to work as part of a team ensuring that meals are produced to a high standard and that kitchens, storage areas and equipment are clean and well maintained, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and adherence to health and safety policy and good practice.


Training will be given, and some hours worked will be at an enhanced hourly rate.


Good verbal and written communication skills in English are essential, whilst the ability to verbally communicate effectively in Welsh would be desirable.


You will be required to undertake a Disclosure check by the Disclosure & Barring Service.
