Job Details
We have a permanent vacancy for an Assistant Cook in the new Care Village in Methil which provides care 7 days a week for residents. This 35 hours per week posts consists of working Monday to Friday as required between 9:00am to 5:00pm.
The successful candidate will be required to develop and operate a Cafe venture within the Care Home setting. It would be advantageous to have Barista, Cash Handling and Home Baking experience.

Duties will include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food, along with understanding the requirements of special diets.
Duties may include serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, it's surround and equipment.
Completion of basic bookwork and electronic returns may be required.
You will earn a competitive salary of 24,740.74pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:
13.18 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.

The Person
Do you have Catering Experience or a Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
We particularly encourage applications from men, who are currently underrepresented within this type of work.
Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a Team.
You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
