Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Cook to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences, the role would require flexibility to cover the head chef when on annual leave & other shift patterns. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service and kitchen operations, demonstrating a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to food safety.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Support menu planning efforts, contributing ideas for seasonal dishes and catering options. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during all food handling processes. Participate in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and cooking various ingredients. Provide excellent service during meal times, including plating dishes and serving as needed. Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.

Experience

Previous experience is preferred. Background in kitchen environments is highly desirable. Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Mush have previous experience and skills of working within a busy kitchen. Must have a food & hygiene certificate. NVQ level 3 in food hygiene & food preparation & cooking
