Job Description

The Old Rectory Residential Home provides a high standard of care, companionship and safety in a delightful Victorian home with patios and gardens. We care for the elderly and ensure our residents privacy, dignity and comfort is maintained at all times. We aim to make life enjoyable and therefore the care needs of each resident is tailored to suit, we encourage our residents to play an active role in the way the home is run. Family and friends are always welcome to visit. Set in the picturesque village of Dymchurch in Kent and is within walking distance of the beautiful famous 'Golden Sands'.

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Cook who is friendly, motivated and reliable, to work alongside the Head Cook and the staff team to provide a quality catering service and help create a warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents.

Job responsibilities to include:

Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents

Assisting the Head Cook to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy

Preparing and cooking in the absence of the Head Cook

Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures

Essential Skills, Characteristics and Experience:

Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above - desirable but training can be provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.42 per hour
