We are looking for an Assistant Curator of Collections and Interiors to join our team. You'll be on a fixed term, part time basis, working 21.6 hours per week.

This is a great opportunity for someone to develop their experience as a Curator working mainly with Roman archaeological collections from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall, based at Corbridge Roman Site.



As Assistant Curator of Collections and Interiors, you will work with the Collections Curator and broader North Collections team to care for, research, and promote the collection.



You will support the Collections Curator in researching and developing stories within the National Heritage Collection. You will work alongside the Curator, Conservator, Collections Management team and Collection Volunteers to ensure excellent documentation and care of stored collections. You will have the opportunity to lead smaller scale projects around research, access and engagement, and content delivery.



To be considered as an Assistant Curator of Collections and Interiors, you'll need:



Degree in history, archaeology or a relevant, related subject, or equivalent experience. Experience of working with museum collections. Experience of working with volunteers. Ability to communicate information clearly, concisely and authoritatively to specialists and non-specialists. A willingness to collaborate, establish shared priorities and work collegiately.

Interviews will be held on in the week commencing 6th October 2025 at Corbridge Roman Site.
