We are looking for An Assistant Director of Operations - Planned Care who shares our vision, ambition and values. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer the Assistant Director of Planned Care will oversee the delivery of the Health Board's ambitious commitment to continue the transformation of planned care services (including Cancer and Diagnostics) and delivery of national standards for planned care.
They will oversee the expansion of current efficiency and productivity programmes and work alongside the transformation agenda to drive the relevant programmes to ensure patients get the right care, in the right place, at the right time, thereby improving access, waiting times, clinical outcomes and experience for all patients in need of planned care in Swansea Bay UHB.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to make a significant impact in the planned care delivery of the Health Board and the wider service transformation programme.
The post holder has responsibility for collaborating with colleagues in Service Groups and Corporate Functions to provide high quality well-being and care services taking account of the needs of the SBUHB population.
They will be responsible for the provision of strategic and operational leadership to ensure the safe, high quality and efficient management of all services within the responsibility and accountability of Planned Care agenda, including the population's health and the delivery of care services.
They will have leadership responsibility for the effective implementation of national, regional and local strategies and the delivery of population health integrated service objectives within available resources on all sites within the remit of Planned Care.
They will have accountability to support the Chief Operating Officer in ensuring there is a positive patient and community centred culture, continually collaborating with partner organisations, staff and patients to improve population wellness and clinical care outcomes.
They will be expected to pro-actively collaborate with other senior personnel and external stakeholders to ensure that the health of the population of Swansea Bay is improved and exceeds expectations where possible.
They will have full line management responsibility undertaking the full range of workforce functions that include disciplinary, grievance, appraisal, recruitment, performance management for several diverse teams.
