Michael Page is retained exclusively with Tai Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Housing to recruit a brand new role of Assistant Director - People.

This is a first-time role, at this level, and you will be the leader of their dedicated People team.

Reporting into the Director of Finance & Resourcing, NWH seek someone to lead a collaborative and solutions-focused team of three (two People Partners, and a People Administrator).

After having regraded the role to serve an exciting period of change, our customer requires someone to develop, lead, manage and monitor People strategies that enable North Wales Housing to deliver great homes, high-quality services and support to our customers.

The organisation is already delivering on a strong foundation of building an enviable inclusive culture, to continue this journey they seek a leader who is able to understand the complex nature of Housing and truly build a people plan that will be executed in a people-centric, and creative way. NWH is also due to increase its \'stock\' of homes for their customers, and therefore there will be a need to support the growth of headcount, grow and develop skills - all with an agenda of aligning with diversity, equity & inclusion, especially with social mobility in mind.

Due to the nature of this change agenda, we are seeking someone who has a solid toolkit of the following;

NWH have a policy of 3 days in the office, in Llandudno Junction, per month.

To be considered for this Assistant Director - People role, you will have proven experience within a strategic capacity, which has supported businesses / organisations to achieve their strategic goals.

You\'ll have a toolkit in all thing\'s talent management & development, organisational design & development, employee relations and engagement - with an ability for partnering, coaching and influencing at all levels of the organisation.

A keen understanding of People technology is also important - NWH is an organisation that makes data & insight led decisions, so being able to decipher and use data to design and shape strategy and projects is key.

We\'re seeking a leader who drives an agenda in the wider organisation, but equally within their own team, so someone with the passion for coaching, developing and leading a team from the front is \'what good looks like\'.

Our customer Tai Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Housing (NWH), provides social & affordable homes and related services across North Wales for over 2,700 households in the region, and they employ approx. 200 people regionally.

Founded in 1974, NWH pride themselves in being focused on providing homes, not housing, and understand the value and importance of the environment and communities people call \'home\'. They also provide services for vulnerable people including the homeless, people with drug and alcohol and mental health challenges. NWH has developed expertise in homes for Older Persons over the years, they offer several housing options for those aged over 55, including innovative Extra Care schemes.

The organisation started a period of transformation in 2019, which included refinancing to give more capacity to continue to develop new homes. The Development Strategy demonstrates their commitment to over 500 quality new homes by the end of 2026.

This role offers a salary of \xc2\xa360,238 plus a suite of benefits.APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • Professional Styles Profiling and DiSC Profiling: If you are invited to interview stage, you will also be asked to complete a Wave professional style profiling assessment. This typically takes around 30 minutes to complete online and an hour for the feedback session which will be held virtually on either 10th or 11th October.
  • Assessment & Interview date: Monday 16th October. Interviews will be held at our Head Office. You will be given a topic in advance and will be asked to prepare a short presentation to deliver to a panel, followed by a competency-based interview. Meeting the SLT and People team will be a buffet lunch, where all candidates will be present - for those interviewing the morning they can leave after lunch and for those interviewing in the afternoon they can arrive for lunch. Offices will be made available for any interview \'downtime\'.
