Glenbervie House and Country Estate is seeking a proactive, organised, and commercially-minded Assistant Events & Sales Manager to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of all weddings and events at this prestigious venue.

This is a key role that combines event sales, detailed event planning, and hands-on operational leadership including oversight of bar operations and liquor sales targets. Working closely with the Sales & Events Manager and General Manager, you will help drive revenue through exceptional client service, efficient event execution, and by contributing to the day-to-day operational excellence of Glenbervie's events and hospitality services.

Key Responsibilities: Event Sales & Planning

Manage incoming enquiries for weddings, corporate functions, and private events. o Conduct professional venue show-rounds and convert leads into confirmed bookings. o Create bespoke event proposals, quotes, contracts, and detailed function sheets. o Ensure accurate and timely updates of the CRM and event booking systems. o Support the achievement of monthly and annual event and liquor sales targets. o Develop trusted relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. o Liaise with the kitchen, bar, and operational teams to ensure all event requirements are met.
Event Operations & Delivery o Work alongside the General Manager to coordinate the smooth running of daily event operations. o Lead the execution of weddings and events from setup to breakdown, ensuring excellence at every stage. o Act as the main contact for the client during events, overseeing service standards and timelines. o Manage and brief event staff and bar teams , ensuring roles are clearly defined and service is professional. o Monitor event flow and proactively resolve any issues or last-minute changes.

Bar Operations & Liquor Sales

Support the General Manager and operations team in overseeing bar service standards during events. o Ensure bar teams are well-coordinated and deliver efficient, high-quality service. o Help drive liquor and bar sales, actively upselling premium packages and add-on, o Track and report on liquor sales performance in line with overall event profitability. o Ensure full compliance with licensing laws and venue policies.
Guest Experience & Feedback o Champion a client-first approach, ensuring that every guest has an exceptional experience. o Gather client feedback post-event and report on areas of improvement or success. o Continuously identify opportunities to improve service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Reporting & Admin

Assist the Sales & Events Manager in preparing sales and operations reports for senior leadership. o Monitor event revenue, upsells, and liquor sales to support business goals. o Help manage stock levels, supplier relationships, and inventory relevant to events operations. o Ensure compliance with all health & safety, licensing, and venue regulations.
Requirements: Essential:

Experience in event planning, event operations, or hospitality sales--preferably in weddings or high-end venues. o Demonstrated success in delivering events and achieving sales targets. o Leadership experience managing event and bar teams in a fast-paced environment. o Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. o Knowledge of CRM or booking software, especially Reslynx o Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
