Purpose of Role
We are currently looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London.

As an Assistant Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the facilities management service. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will help ensure that building, maintenance, compliance, and support services are delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities

  • Support the Facilities Manager with the delivery of hard and soft FM services across the hospital site.
  • Supervise contractors and in-house teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Assist in managing budgets, service performance, and reporting requirements.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits, ensuring statutory and contractual compliance.
  • Act as a point of contact for client representatives and hospital staff, resolving issues promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, sustainability targets, and operational efficiencies.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
  • Previous experience in facilities management, ideally within a healthcare
  • Strong knowledge of FM compliance, health & safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAFM systems.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or similar
