We are seeking an ambitious teacher ready for their next challenge, to help ensure that our English departments deliver results for our students that match those of the highest performing schools in the country.

As an Assistant Faculty Leader for English, you will have the opportunity to shape the curriculum, oversee its implementation, and develop high-quality resources and teaching materials. You will help to lead and inspire a dedicated team, supporting the development of both experienced teachers and trainees.

As a middle leader at Nova Hreod, you will be empowered to drive change, set strategic priorities, and shape the teaching of your subject. You will have the autonomy to refine curriculum design, implement research - led teaching strategies, and ensure consistently high standards of delivery. Your leadership will directly impact student outcomes, fostering a culture of excellence and a love of English.

Responsibilities for this role will vary but can include:

To set high expectations for standards of teaching and learning and to model excellent practice. To help lead the subject knowledge and pedagogy development of your team. To promote the building and sharing of good practice across your team. To help lead the ongoing development, resourcing and evaluation of the English Curriculum. To monitor and evaluate standards of teaching and learning through classroom observation, sampling students' work and student feedback. To monitor and evaluate standards of attainment through the analysis of performance data. To create a stimulating learning environment across your subject area that promotes its identity and its contribution to the whole academy curriculum. To keep up to date with current research and use this to inform practice across your department. To keep abreast of national developments in your subject area and apply them where relevant. To carry out any other relevant tasks and duties as may occasionally be required.
