You will be working as part of a regional finance team of 12 and will be reporting into a Finance Business Partner. This is an extremely varied and commercial role. After you have received all of the necessary training, you will be responsible for the P&L and BS, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and business partnering non-finance stakeholders, of one of the sites in Wolverhampton, which has a turnover of c. \xc2\xa38.5 million. Your duties will include but will not be limited to:
  • Producing the P&L and balance sheet, with commentary for the site.
  • Taking responsibility for the financial controls and month end processes for the site, including: raising invoices, cash reporting, credit card reconciliation, sales reconciliations, reviewing the PO log and weekly flash process.
  • Providing the General Manager with financial analysis on sales and costs, with commentary and recommendations on delivering budgeted sales.
  • Analysing and providing commentary on key metrics, including: GP, labour v sales ratio and unit margin %.
  • Training the operational teams on the use of business reporting and KPIs to understand and improve their financial performance.
  • Populating monthly balance sheet documents and escalating key risks and opportunities to the General Manager and Finance Business Partner.
  • Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting process for the site.

The Successful Applicant

To apply for this position, you do not need to have experience of all of the duties outlined above, as training will be provided. However you must:
  • have some experience of working in management accounts
  • have experience of month end duties
  • have experience of prepayments and accruals
  • understand a P&L and the principles
  • be able to work as part of an outgoing, friendly and supportive team
