Responsibilities
Preparation of year end accounts up to trial balance and supporting reports
Sole preparation of monthly management accounts, with overhead analysis and reporting
Regular balance sheet reconciliations
Intercompany accounting and reconciliation, along with posting monthly PAYE journals
Maintaining fixed asset register
Cost tracking and providing variable analysis on a monthly basis
Overseeing the VAT and CIS returns and submissions, carried out by our finance assistant and purchase ledger clerk
Close monitoring and assistance with query and supplier resolutions
Check and finalise monthly payment run
Overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions
Carry out monthly departmental audits and reviews
Supporting the finance manager and wider team as required
Requirements
Experience in construction industry and an understanding of CIS preferred but not essential for the right candidate
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt your messaging for different audiences
A basic understanding of the structure and purpose of financial reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to support and coordinate multiple projects
A strong sense of ownership, with the ability to independently manage tasks and take the lead on briefs when required.
Excellent attention to detail and a commercial mindset would be advantageous
