About the role:




Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for accuracy and control? Sage is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant who is part qualified or looking to begin their studies, to support our Treasury and Revenue Accounting teams in maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring accurate reconciliation of bank transactions.



This role plays a key part in aligning supplier payments and customer receipts with Sage Homes' accounting systems, contributing to a resilient and well-governed financial environment.


This role is based at our Northampton office for three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining two days.





Key responsibilities include:


Lead all bank reconciliation activities across the Financial Control team (approx. 100 bank accounts) Perform daily reconciliations for GoCardless and Stripe transactions Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for bank accounts and payment providers Support the Assistant Treasurer with bank administration tasks (e.g. account management, shareholder reporting, Barclays.net user setup) Assist with quarterly management reporting on corporate finance agreements Calculate quarterly debt waterfall cashflows and lender payments Liaise with our Luxembourg-based parent company on Group treasury reporting Support hedge accounting activities with the Financial Reporting team Collaborate with Revenue Accounting to ensure accurate posting of sales receipts and staircasing payments Reconcile tenant balances, solicitor client accounts, and rent control accounts monthly Support weekly reconciliation of customer rent charges against rent roll Allocate Procure-to-Pay bank transactions in the General Ledger and cashbooks Document reconciliation processes and identify opportunities for efficiency Assist with internal audit activities related to bank reconciliations Perform other ad-hoc duties as required

About you



Proven experience in high-volume bank reconciliation Familiarity with rent accounting and treasury practices (desirable) Experience working in a finance team and posting journals to ERP systems Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, AMCT or ACCA) preferred Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills High attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn Ability to meet deadlines under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
