The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you will form a pivotal part of our Financial Accounting function, supporting the team to meet the Group's financial reporting requirements with a particular focus on Treasury and Working Capital Management.
You will be fully funded and supported to study towards a professional accounting qualification (AAT / ACCA), representing an opportunity to launch or boost your career.
Our vision doesn't stop there however; we are keen for you to play a key role in the long-term development and succession plan of the Finance department and will ensure you gain exposure to all areas of the Financial Accounting function, providing a secure environment to pursue a structured career complementing your studies.
Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the compiling and delivery of regular and ad-hoc external reporting (such as completing ONS surveys and other fiscal returns and preparing VAT returns) to ensure accurate and timely external reporting of wider business activities.
  • Assisting with weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, stock funding management and reporting, and month-end tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Helping with ad-hoc Group payments and postings, our Group virtual card payment system, and associated reporting.
  • Supporting the improvement of accounting systems and processes and supporting the wider Financial Accounting team with general administration, acting as the first port of call for internal and external enquiries (e.g. via phone and email).

About You:
  • For AAT entry level, you should have at least 3 A Levels at grades A*-C.
  • For ACCA entry level, you should be educated to degree level (2:2 or above).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build outstanding working relationships.
  • Logical and critical problem-solving ability.
  • A professional approach, operating with honesty and integrity.
  • Passion for learning.
  • Team player.
