The Scope/The Person



We are looking for a confident and experienced leader who can support the General Manager in running a high-performing centre. The ideal candidate is commercially aware, people-focused, and capable of coaching and motivating a team while maintaining high standards in service, safety, and operational efficiency. You'll have a hands-on approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You'll need to be capable to deputise in running the centre in the absence of the GM.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables



Managing Business Cost & Performance

Support the General Manager in efficiently managing overheads, stock, labour control, and other cost-impacting elements in line with business targets and KPIs.

Assist in the collation and presentation of accurate and timely information on the following documents to support centre operations:
Weekly Rotas

Managers weekly report

Wage files

Holiday trackers

Training documents and Versatility trackers

Weekly cash reporting

Maintenance Trackers

Develop an understanding of stock costs and support the management team in maintaining accurate stock records. Assist in completing stock takes, and help analyse discrepancies to recommend actions. Participate in the review of monthly KPIs alongside the General Manager, helping to identify opportunities and support required actions. Assist in monitoring departmental sales revenue and support the management team in achieving relevant targets through coaching and operational oversight.

HR & People Management

Support the General Manager in overseeing team performance, HR practices, and talent development.

Lead by example in daily operations and uphold all HR processes in line with company guidelines, policies, and procedures, seeking guidance from the General Manager or BDM when necessary. Support recruitment and onboarding processes within the centre and assist department leads in doing the same. Ensure appraisals and key HR timelines are met with support from the General Manager. Assist in the development, training, and motivation of team members using tools like versatility trackers. Help identify training needs and support succession planning in collaboration with the General Manager. Support a positive work-life balance for the team by promoting fair scheduling and a collaborative approach to rota management.

Safety & Compliance

Assist in maintaining compliance with company policies and external regulations while supporting a safe and clean environment.

Promote correct use of company systems and documents among the team. Assist in ensuring cash handling, transactions, and reporting are completed accurately. Support the General Manager in maintaining relationships with external regulatory bodies and help manage the upkeep of premises and equipment to required standards. In the event of a serious incident or accident, assist in completing required documentation and ensure it is submitted appropriately. Support the reporting and tracking of maintenance issues and follow through on remedial actions. Help monitor the completion of training such as food safety and first aid and coordinate session planning as needed. Assist in maintaining and auditing Health & Safety folders, ensuring all certificates are current and correctly filed.

Customer Experience and Service Levels

Support the General Manager in driving exceptional customer service and consistently high standards.

Deliver excellent customer service and actively support the team in meeting the same expectations by role modelling and coaching best practices. Uphold the FACT principles in all team engagement and training. Help ensure the centre meets company standards in look, feel, and atmosphere. Empower team leads to maintain these standards in their areas. Monitor adherence to customer rules and policies, ensuring both team and customer expectations are met. Support the management of customer feedback processes, including party comment cards and online reviews. Help address any issues in a timely and professional manner. Participate in monthly audits to observe team interactions and identify areas for improvement in service consistency and FACT delivery.

Essential Experience:

1. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in management role within a customer-facing, fast-paced environment (e.g., leisure, hospitality, retail, or similar).

2. Proven ability to lead and develop a team, manage operational processes, and support business performance.

3. Confident in handling customer queries and team-related issues, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

4. Basic understanding of operational areas such as rotas, training, cash handling, and safety compliance.

5. HR experience and computer literate.
