Assistant Gym Manager

The Role:
As the Assistant Gym Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations and overall success of Burnden Park Fitness Academy. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help lead our team, ensure exceptional member experiences, and contribute to the growth of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Experience: Ensure high levels of member satisfaction through excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Team Support & Development: Assist in the training, supervision, and motivation of gym staff (front desk, trainers, cleaners), fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, facility cleanliness, equipment maintenance checks, and inventory management.
Sales & Membership: Support membership sales efforts, conduct gym tours, and assist with member onboarding and retention strategies.
Administrative Tasks: Handle various administrative duties such as scheduling, record-keeping, processing payments, and generating reports.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment for members and staff.
Community Engagement: Assist in planning and executing gym events, promotions, and community outreach initiatives.
Managing social media engagement
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a fitness, retail, or hospitality environment (minimum 2 years preferred).
Fitness Knowledge: A strong understanding of fitness principles, gym equipment, and a genuine passion for health and wellness.
Customer Service Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and handle diverse customer needs.
Leadership Potential: Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to lead by example.
Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using gym management software, POS systems, and general office applications.
Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications:
Optional: First Aid, defibrillator Trained, Pool Plant room Course current or willing to obtain
Relevant fitness certifications Optional: Level 2/3 Personal Trainer, Degree in Sports Management or related field is a plus.
