Impossible Manchester seeks a talented and motivated AGM for vibrant venue

Salary - from 32,500 + TRONC // Impossible is a thriving bar// restaurant// event space// Manchester We are open from 12:00 until late for a daytime All applicants must have excellent spoken English, full drinks & cocktail experience. You will be an existing AGM, Bar manager or been an assistant manager for at least a year.

Job Purpose:

To support the General Manager in the smooth and efficient day to day running of the venue ensuring that revenue opportunities are effectively exploited whilst optimising profit and without compromising brand standards and values. To ensure all legal requirements are complied with in accordance with all Legislation and Company Policies.

1. People Management



To identify necessary levels of staff required and to meet these requirements via the recruitment of quality personnel.

To ensure staff receive an appropriate induction in accordance with company guidelines and continued training and development throughout their employ.

To instigate and maintain a productive and motivated team.

To monitor, analyse and be proactive in relation to staff turnover.

To ensure that all personnel are fairly and equally treated with regards to training/ development and opportunities for progression within company.

To cultivate good practice with regard to ethics and conduct and ensure the well being of personnel whilst in the workplace and representing the company.

To contribute to a regular appraisal process and ensure that an effective communication process is developed to optimise the performance of all personnel.

To support the General Manger in ensuring that regular communication meetings take place incorporating pre-session briefings, post session debriefs, entertainment, promotions and management meetings.

To maintain communication with all appropriate support departments within the company

2. Customer Service



To exceed customer expectations by developing, implementing and maintaining optimum standards in customer service across all aspects of the operation and to ensure the delivery of peerless standards within the competitive environment.

3. Financial Management



To anticipate, with accuracy, business levels and ensure appropriate resources are planned to meet demand in a manner that will be conducive to an optimum relationship between a quality customer experience and profit.

To ensure that all management controls & systems are in place to maximise income and profit.

4. Business Development



To analyse products and services offered and identify areas for improvement in presentation and content, with a view to exceeding customer expectations (in accordance with brand values).

To facilitate new business development and increased footfall through competitor awareness and local marketing initiatives.

To deliver Head Office instigated sales, marketing & promotions initiatives.

To recognise, report and mitigate any potential risks/ threats to the business.

5. Company Policies and Guidelines



To support the general manager in implementing company procedures and policies with regard to work standards, cash control, stock control and purchasing (this includes being responsible and accountable for ensuring that the venue operates as is required by statutory legislation and company policy).

To maintain all official books, documents, company property and provisions as notified in the company's manuals. Such papers and property must be made available for inspection by the company or its appointed agents at any time, and explanations given, as required.

You must account for all goods and monies received in the course of business and be able to account for such transactions as required by the company. It is your responsibility to ensure that all moneys, cheques and securities are safeguarded and banked in accordance with company policy and procedures.

You should seek authority from the General Manager or in his absence his line manager to make purchases on behalf of the company but only through approved suppliers, notified in the company's manual and within approved levels. You are not authorised to sign contracts on behalf of the company. It is your duty to ensure that goods are sold to the public in the same condition as supplied to you through the company, and in quantities and at prices in accordance with statutory requirements and company policy. Any breaches in relation to stock and prices can result in disciplinary procedures.

To collate information for any insurance claims against the venues and defend where appropriate.

6. Security



To be vigilant and ensure the safekeeping of company assets, property and money

To support the General Manger in ensuring that contracted security staff have a continued focus on customer service and venue safety.

To check statutory requirements associated with access and egress of the premises, are being adhered to.

7. Licensing and Legislation



Undertake to hold and comply with any licenses associated with the business premises and such licenses will be held absolutely as trustee for the company or its appointed attorney.

To ensure there is no breach of any legislation, policies, regulations,

Procedures and Working Practices.

To ensure necessary legal documentation is displayed correctly

8. Health and Safety Responsibilities



To keep vigil for potential risks to health and safety and mitigate where possible or instigate remedial actions

To promote responsible attitudes towards health and safety and;

a) Ensure that each new employee is given induction and orientation training to include, noise at work, the location of the first aid boxes, fire exits and fire fighting equipment and to be informed in the emergency evacuation procedure.

b) Ensure all employees are aware of the Health and Safety policy.

c) Keep up to date with Health and Safety matters applicable to the operations of the company.

d) Investigate all accidents with a view to prevention.

e) Ensure good housekeeping standards are applied and deliver a safe environment through maintenance of the venue and staff training
