Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the hospitality industry, with a focus on food preparation and culinary excellence. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively, ensuring that our establishment maintains high standards of service and food safety. Work will be 5 days from 7 on a rota basis.

Duties

Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant or hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and monitoring food production to minimise waste. Train new staff members in hospitality practices, food handling, and customer service excellence. Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication among staff. Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring satisfaction with their dining experience. Assist in developing menus that reflect current trends while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality sector is essential. Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is crucial for maintaining compliance. Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams effectively. Previous experience in barista roles or hotel management is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
