Summary
We're looking for a hands-on
Assistant General Manager
to help oversee the daily operations of one of our cafes, with the clear goal of taking full responsibility over time. You'll work directly with the owner at first, but gradually step into a leadership role -- managing the team, handling stock, supporting scheduling, maintaining food and service standards, and ensuring smooth, profitable daily performance.
Responsibilities
Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations.
Supervise staff to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Maintain food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Support culinary operations by coordinating kitchen activities and staff schedules.
Assist in training new employees on restaurant policies and procedures.
Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Contribute to menu planning and development based on seasonal ingredients.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant industry.
Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership abilities to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience in bartending or kitchen management is a plus.
