Westwood Lakes is a thriving, family-run holiday and fishing complex located just outside Boston, Lincolnshire. We offer 30 luxury holiday lodges, seven well-stocked lakes, The Fisherman's Rest Cafe, The Mallard Bar and Lounge, and an on-site bait and tackle shop. The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, proactive Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in the smooth running of the site. Based primarily in our reception office, this varied role involves overseeing guest services, managing bookings, handling administration, and assisting across departments as needed. A key part of the job is always ensuring exceptional customer service and stepping in wherever required to keep site operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:
Meet and greet guests, manage check-ins/outs, and handle bookings and payments using our online system.
Respond to guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and care.
Support departments including housekeeping, maintenance, the cafe, bar, and tackle shop during busy periods.
Log company expenses and invoices, and assist with basic financial tracking and reporting.
Communicate confidently and clearly with guests, suppliers, and team members via email, phone, and face-to-face.
Ensure site operations follow health & safety standards, with occasional support in risk assessments.
Promote teamwork and assist in staff supervision and training where needed.
Create engaging content, promotions, and events on our social media platforms to drive customer engagement.
Implement effective measures to reduce wastage and losses.
Participating in the planning, preparing and participation of events on site such as NYE parties or bank holiday weekends.
Working as part of a team, covering sickness and annual leave when required.
What You'll Need
Strong customer service skills with experience in hospitality, leisure, or similar.
Computer literacy and confidence using spreadsheets, booking systems, and general office software.
Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
A positive and flexible approach - willing to help wherever needed.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and thrive in a busy, varied environment.
Hours & Availability
32 hours per week requiring flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, and peak periods. Optional overtime available.
