Job description

Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to help coach and deliver gymnastics classes weekly. This is an exciting opportunity for a helper coach (Level 0 or Level 1) to deliver 'gymnastics for all' during term-time on a Saturday morning.

About us:

Epsom Gymnastics is an expanding gym club in Epsom that opened in c2004. We are passionate about providing fun recreational classes that place participants at the heart of every session.

There are currently numerous classes which start at 9:00am and finish at 1:30pm for children aged 4 years upwards and last 45 minutes each. There is paid time before and after classes for the set up of equipment and for a coaching briefing. The club is based at the Rainbow Leisure Centre in Epsom and has great transport links.

The Role:

This coach will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of gymnastics sessions. The main responsibilities include:

? Assisting with the safe set up and packing away of equipment, ensuring all equipment is stored safely and the regular cleaning of equipment.

? Assisting with warm ups

? Teaching relevant skills, progressions and techniques under the supervision of the coach

? Monitoring and enhancing performance by providing physical support, encouragement and constructive feedback

? Keeping accurate records about children's progress including monitoring their progression through the award scheme

? Following the club's behaviour management strategies and creating a safe and enjoyable environment for children to learn in

? Ensuring health and safety is adhered to

? Undertaking ad-hoc administrative tasks including registering children when required

? Taking responsibility for the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children

This is a great opportunity for someone seeking some additional responsibility and wanting progress on their coaching journey. It would also potentially suit someone considering a career in coaching or teaching as the experience gained is very transferable to the National Curriculum and the club is run by a qualified PE teacher.

The Benefits:

The rate of pay will be hourly starting at 10.50 per hour for a Level 1 coach, based upon your level of qualification and experience. Finally, there is free parking available.

All the details about the club can be found on our website: http://www.epsomgymnastics.co.uk

If this sounds like something you are interested in please forward across a CV or summarise your experience via email.

We look forward to hearing from you.
