About the Role
This role involves taking lead responsibility for ensuring the best possible curriculum offer, provision, well-being, progress, and achievement for all pupils. The successful candidate will monitor performance and hold staff accountable for pupil outcomes.
The role offers the opportunity to bring innovation and creativity to inspire learning in an SEN environment for pupils with varied needs. The postholder will maintain a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in decisions about their learning.
Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant Headteacher will provide clear and authentic leadership, establish school aims and objectives, ensure high levels of quality and compliance, and collaborate to develop individualised programmes of learning for pupils.
Essential Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
Experience with Ofsted framework and inspections
Experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition or challenging behaviours
Experience managing staff
Experience leading one or more curriculum areas
Ability to motivate teams and individuals
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
QTS or QTLS
Nationally recognised degree
NPQ or working towards
