Job Summary



We are seeking a visionary and experienced Deputy Head Teacher to support the Head Teacher in leading the academic, operational, and pastoral functions of our online school. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking educator with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of virtual pedagogy, and a passion for nurturing both staff and students in a digital learning environment.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Strategy



? Support the Head Teacher in the strategic and day-to-day management of the school.
? Lead on academic quality assurance, curriculum development, and staff professional development.
? Contribute to the formulation and implementation of school policies and improvement plans.

Teaching & Learning



? Oversee teaching standards, virtual classroom engagement, and digital learning best practices.
? Support teachers in designing inclusive, interactive, and differentiated online lessons.
? Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes, ensuring timely interventions where needed.

Pastoral & Safeguarding



? Promote student wellbeing and a safe online learning environment, upholding safeguarding standards.
? Support the delivery of pastoral care, mentoring programs, and online behaviour policies.

Operations & Administration



? Contribute to the coordination of virtual timetabling, attendance tracking, and exam administration.
? Assist with parent communications, school reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Team Development



? Mentor and coach teaching and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
? Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.

Qualifications & Experience



? Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
? Proven experience in a senior leadership role (e.g. Assistant/Deputy Head) ideally within an online setting.
? Deep understanding of online education technologies and pedagogy.
? Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
? Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in a remote setting.

Desirable Attributes



? Experience working with international students and multicultural teams.
? Familiarity with online learning platforms such as Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft Teams, Canvas, or similar.
? Postgraduate qualifications in Education Leadership or related fields.
