Job Purpose



We are seeking a compassionate, organised and dependable

Assistant Housing Manager

to support the current Housing Manager with daily operations at our supported living properties. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment for our residents who have learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or other long term support needs.

Overall Role Objectives



Provide general administration support for all housing management administration.

Visit all services and support the Housing Manager in delivering the following responsibilities:

Provide high-quality, responsive housing management and customer service focused on positive outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Liaise with on-site staff regarding new tenant viewings and sign-ups, ensuring tenants fully understand the Tenancy Agreement and the services provided.

Stay informed on housing-related benefits to offer accurate and up-to-date advice.

Work closely with local authorities and housing benefit teams to prevent rent arrears and support tenants in maintaining their tenancies.

Assist with the void process by minimising turnaround times and ensuring properties are let within set periods.

Ensure all landlord duties are delivered in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

Co-ordinate post-void inspections with on-site staff to uphold property standards and follow up on any necessary works.

Manage the replacement and/or repair of individual flats or communal furniture and white goods in conjunction with support or care providers.

Respond promptly and appropriately to reports of anti-social behaviour, nuisance, or harassment in line with procedures and best practice.

Address all complaints, concerns and informal feedback about service delivery, ensuring timely and effective responses.

Monitor and manage tenancy breaches in accordance with policy, legislation and regulatory guidance.

Ensure all service-related communications are accurate, up to date and regularly reviewed for effectiveness.

Carry out health and safety inspections ensuring all schemes meet required compliance standards.

Person Specification, Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:



Experience in property management or a related field.

Knowledge of housing law would be beneficial but not essential.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with residents and team members.
Ability to effectively plan and implement change with a focus on the delivery of results

Demonstrate empathy and the values of Skills Community Housing

Excellent interpersonal, written and presentational skills for a variety of audiences
