About the role
We're looking for a proactive and driven Assistant HR Business Partner to support the delivery of the UK HR Strategy across our Regional Buildings Business Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to strategic HR initiatives while working closely with senior leaders and HR colleagues to drive performance and engagement.
Location: Flexible, with travel to project sites across the UK
What you'll be doing

  • Support the development and implementation of the HR plan aligned to business priorities.
  • Assist in delivering UK-wide HR initiatives and Group Build to Last programmes.
  • Partner with senior managers to support talent development and succession planning.
  • Promote best practice in HR processes and ensure compliance across the business.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on people-related matters.
  • Help analyse employee survey results and support action planning to improve engagement.
  • Contribute to organisational design and resourcing strategies.
  • Support senior recruitment and strategic reward activities.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of learning and development plans.
  • Help manage structural changes and complex employee relations cases.
  • Promote Inclusion & Diversity and support achievement of related targets.
  • Use HR data to identify trends and support business performance improvements.
  • Role model Balfour Beatty behaviours and maintain a focus on Zero Harm.
Who we're looking for
Essential:
  • Experience supporting HR initiatives in a complex, matrix organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.
  • Experience across a range of HR disciplines.
  • Emotionally intelligent and confident in coaching others.
Desirable:
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
