Background

continuous improvement, we are looking to appoint an Assistant
Management Accountant to support our growing finance function and
contribute to the firm financial control, insight, and
performance.
The role
The Assistant Management Accountant will
play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial
information to support the effective financial management of the
firm. Working closely with the wider finance team, you will
assist in the preparation of monthly accounts, reconciliations,
reporting, and supporting internal clients. This is an excellent
opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to develop their
career in a dynamic and professional environment.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in the production of monthly management accounts, including preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and supporting schedules.
Prepare monthly accruals, prepayments, and recurring journals.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
Provide commentary and insight on financial results to support understanding and decision making across the business.
Respond to ad-hoc financial queries and information requests from fee earners and central service teams.
Support the preparation of payroll reporting
Maintain dashboard targets for the fee earners
Preparation of payment runs
Reconciliation of bank transactions.
Help ensure robust financial controls are maintained across finance processes.
Support for the Management Accountant and other managers in the team, as required
Skills & Qualifications
AAT qualified, or working towards an ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification, or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident working with financial systems.
Effective problem-solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Legal sector experience and/or exposure to payroll is desirable, but not essential.
