Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant available at short notice and confident working in a fast-paced finance environment? A leisure-based company is seeking a capable and hands-on Assistant Accountant to join their finance team for an initial 3-month period, focusing on key reconciliations and month-end support.
This is an exciting opportunity to support a well-known brand within the leisure industry. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure the integrity of the accounts through accurate reconciliations and financial housekeeping.
What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

• Carrying out detailed bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepayments, and control accounts.
• Reviewing and clearing aged items and unmatched transactions.
• Supporting month-end routines and the production of management accounts.
• Assisting with the posting of journals and transactional data.
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
• Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting support as required.

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

• Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or reconciliation-focused role.
• Confident working independently and resolving discrepancies.
• Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software
• Available immediately or at short notice.
• Strong communication skills and a methodical approach.

• 17 - 20 per hour depending on experience.
