The Assistant Management Accountant supports the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to aid operational and strategic decision-making. This role requires strong attention to detail, financial acumen, and a proactive attitude in a complex operational and regulatory environment.
You will maintain compliance with financial controls, champion process improvement, and support statutory and regulatory reporting, working with a variety of budgets and stakeholders. The role champions standardisation, automation, efficiency, and compliance, maximising opportunities through innovation and technology.
Key responsibilitiesAssist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
Post journals, accruals, and prepayments accurately
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting, monitoring performance against targets
Analyse Opex costs, identify trends, and provide insights for efficiency
Ensure compliance with financial controls and contribute to process improvements

What does it take to be successful?Graduate or AAT qualified accountant, aiming for CIMA/ACCA
Experience of reporting and working to deadlines
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Analytical approach and ability to challenge
Strong IT skills, especially Excel and Word
Ability to build trust, collaborate, and adapt to change
