Reporting to the Management Accountant - Maintenance, the Assistant Management Accountant will work as part of the Transport Finance team providing financial support to the Traffic Maintenance Business.

What you\'ll do:

  • Production of overhead cost centre reports and commenting on the variances providing full variance analysis (Under & Over Recoveries)
  • Review of utilisation reports and understanding on major variance factors and communicating this back to cost centre owners
  • Review of Business Systems & R&D P&L. This will consist of Licence Tracking, Amortisation & Time of Business/Warwick team
  • Supporting the Senior Management Accountant with updating funding on Oracle for multiple projects.
  • Forecasting fixed, variable, and semi-variable costs on overhead cost centre by liaising with cost centre managers.
  • Establishing recharges for Logistics, Service Centre, Repairs and charging monthly and adjusting appropriately when necessary.
  • Supporting with the annual rates build-up and annual overhead budget setting process.
  • Submitting quarterly overheads forecasts into Hyperion and reconciling back to each cost centre.
  • Supporting Transport team with payroll reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation when required
  • Supporting the Fleet Manager in producing a monthly dashboard where we can distinguish over charge and discover costs saves in the business.
Key requirements:
  • AAT qualified
  • CIMA/ACCA part qualified
  • Proven experience working in an accounting role preferably in a contracting environment.
  • Good communicator
  • Able to manage heavy workload & strict deadlines
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail
  • Systems literate - ideally having used Oracle.
